概要:

本展では、「形を刻む」という行為を、素材に痕跡を残すことにとどまらず、形態を組み立て、空間を構成する思考のプロセスとして捉える。点・線・面や反復、余白によって生まれる構造に着目し、それぞれ異なる技法を通して構成の可能性を探る。

釣谷幸輝は、木口木版画による緻密な刻線と豊かな黒の階調を通して、幾何形態を静謐な空間へと昇華し、その画面に物語性を宿す。曾昭阳は、木版画を基盤としながら近年はアクリル絵画へと表現を展開し、一貫して幾何学的な構造や空間を探求している。

両者の対照的なアプローチを通して、「形を刻む」というテーマを多角的に提示する。

釣谷　幸輝 | Kouki Tsuritani

1967年生まれ、東京都出身。1992年に金沢美術工芸大学大学院美術工芸研究科を修了。現在は広島市立大学芸術学部にて教鞭を執る傍ら制作を行っている。国際展でのグランプリ受賞をはじめ、国内外で多数の展覧会に参加している。

曾　昭阳 | ゼン・ショウヨウ / Zeng Zhaoyang

1990年生まれ、中国江西省出身。2018年にプラット・インスティテュート（ニューヨーク）修士課程を修了。2019年に「哭不印坊（Cube editions）」を設立。現在、深センと香港を拠点に制作・活動を行っている。

Overview:
This exhibition considers the act of “shaping form” not simply as leaving traces on a material, but as a process of constructing form and space through thought. Focusing on structures created through points, lines, planes, repetition, and negative space, the exhibition explores the possibilities of composition through the artists’ distinct approaches.

Kouki Tsuritani works with wood engraving, using intricate carved lines and rich gradations of black to transform geometric forms into quiet, contemplative spaces, while imbuing his images with a sense of narrative.

Zeng Zhaoyang, whose practice is rooted in woodblock printing, has in recent years expanded into acrylic painting. Throughout his work, he consistently explores geometric structures and the construction of space.

Through these contrasting approaches, the two artists present multiple perspectives on the theme of Shaping Form.

Kouki Tsuritani　|　釣谷　幸輝

Born in Tokyo in 1967. Completed the Graduate Program in Fine Arts at Kanazawa College of Art in 1992. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Arts, Hiroshima City University, where he continues his artistic practice alongside teaching. His work has received major awards at international exhibitions and has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Japan and abroad.

Zeng Zhaoyang　|　曾　昭阳

Born in Jiangxi Province, China, in 1990. Completed his master’s degree at Pratt Institute in New York in 2018. In 2019, he founded Cuo Yin Fang (Cube Editions). He is currently based between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, where he continues his artistic practice.
