概要:
本展「あわい awai — Hana Ikushima and Antique Ceramics」は、生嶋花による現代陶芸と古美術品のあいだに立ち上がる感覚や時間の重なりを探る試みである。
用途を持つ器と、用途を超えた造形のあいだを往復する作品は、触れることで感覚をひらき、静けさの中に緊張感を孕んだ佇まいを見せる。
古陶磁に宿る無意識の蓄積と、現代における意識的な造形。その両者が響き合う「あわい」に、新たな感覚が立ち上がる。
生嶋 花 | Hana Ikushima
1997年生まれ、神奈川県相模原市出身。
2019年に武蔵野美術大学造形学部工芸工業デザイン学科木工専攻を卒業し、家具製作会社勤務を経て陶芸家を志す。
2024年、多治見市陶磁器意匠研究所技術コース卒業。2025年、同研究所セラミックスラボ修了。

Overview:
ZWG tokyo is pleased to present awai, an exhibition exploring the subtle space between Hana Ikushima’s contemporary ceramic practice and antique ceramics.
Moving between functional vessels and forms that extend beyond utility, Ikushima’s works invite touch and awaken the senses. Their quiet presence carries an underlying tension, creating moments where material, memory, and perception intersect.
The exhibition brings together the accumulated traces embedded within antique ceramics and the conscious gestures of contemporary making. Through the dialogue between these two worlds, awai seeks to reveal a space where different times, sensibilities, and ways of seeing resonate with one another.
Hana Ikushima | 生嶋 花
Born in 1997 in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan.
Ikushima graduated from the Department of Crafts and Industrial Design (Woodworking Course) at Musashino Art University in 2019. After working in furniture production, she turned her focus to ceramics.
She completed the Technical Course at the Tajimi City Pottery Design and Technical Center in 2024, followed by the Ceramics Laboratory Program in 2025.
